Mr. Jesse Loyd Edwards

Mr. Jesse Loyd Edwards, 79, of Lowgap, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born in Carroll County on December 30, 1937 to the late Izer and Elva Spencer Edwards. Mr. Edwards retired from Spencer’s and was a member and deacon of Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Opal Hawks Edwards of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Tim Weddle of Mt. Airy, Lisa Edwards, Bonnie and Donald Galyean all of Lowgap; a son, Tommy Edwards of Lowgap; six grandchildren, Bobby “Jim Bob” Galyean, Jr., Gregory Galyean, Jennifer Galyean, Samantha Galyean, Tyler Weddle, and Noah Weddle; one great grandchild, Abigail; a sister, Pearlie Hutchens of Dobson; brothers, Matt Edwards, and Elder Arwood Edwards both of Mt. Airy, Troy Edwards of Spencer, VA; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a son, Victor Edwards; a sister, Betty Rae Hawks; brothers, Elijah Edwards and Elwood Edwards. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Rodney Marshall and Elder V.J. Hawks officiating.
