Mr. Jesse Ray "Bill" Simmons

Mr. Jesse Ray "Bill" Simmons, age 88 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Simmons was born in Stokes County on April 3, 1925 to Samuel Jesse and Lala Frances Vaden Simmons. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the US Navy having served during World War II. He was the former owner/operator of Simmons Front End Shop and was well known in the area as being "the best" at his profession. Bill will always be remembered for his kind and loving heart and was of the Primitive Baptist Faith. Surviving are his devoted wife of 60 years, Luvenia Moseley Simmons of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Randy Collins of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Wanda Simmons of Mooresville; Jimmy and Susan Simmons of King; and Randy Simmons and fiancee, Tracy Black of Clemmons; grandchildren and spouses, Ashley Simmons, Mt. Airy, Brandon Collins, Sarah and Russell Yopp, Mt. Airy, Josh and Jenna Simmons, Greenville, Seth Simmons, Visalia, CA, Samuel Simmons, Greenville and Ryan Simmons; Clemmons, great grandchildren, Madyson Collins, Brookelynn Yopp and Natalie Yopp all of Mt. Airy and "expectant" Baby Boy Simmons, Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Rodney Marshall, with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens with full military rites conducted at by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019, Mt. Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.The family would like to express a "special thanks" to Dr. Lou Urmos and staff and the doctors and staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mr. Simmons during his illness.
