Mr. Jimmy Donald Bingman, age 79, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, NC surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Bingman was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed. He cherished each moment he spent with his family. His great granddaughter he called “Rosey” always brought a big smile to his face. He was a retired Line Crew Foreman for Floyd S. Pike. He was a member of The Gospel of Jesus Christ Church. He was born in Surry County on October 27, 1938 to the late Sam Wesley Bingman and the late Gladys Boles Bingman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Lonnie Bingman. Surviving are his daughter Rita Bingman Reynolds of Mt. Airy; son Donald Wayne Bingman of Mt. Airy; grandson Cory Reynolds and great granddaughter Celia Rose Reynolds of Copeland; sisters and brother-in-law Mary and Bobby Johnson of Mt. Airy, Susan Bingman of Mt. Airy; brother and sister-in-law, Gray and Alma Bingman of Mt. Airy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday December 30, 2017 in the Chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Wayne Payne, Rev. Gary Sawyers will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of the service at 2:00 PM and other times at the home of daughter Rita Bingman Reynolds.
