Mr. Jimmy Wayne York, 67 of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on December 30, 1948 to the late Ethel Mae York. Mr. York proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1969 until 1971 and later retired from Cross Creek Apparel. He is survived by, a son, “J.W.” Jimmie Wayne York Noisey; a special friend and companion, Susie Lawson; step daughters, Crystal McMillian and Misty Puckett; grandsons, Christian Gray Noisy, Aiden Moody, Dylan Jake Puckett; granddaughters, Renesmee Moody and Destiny Faith Puckett; very special friends, Paul and Evelyn Sechrist, Clifford and Judy Hawks, Ronald Leonard, Virginia Thompson, Jeff Johnson, Walt Leftwich, Billy and Donald, Iva and Floyd Thompson; the entire Lovill Family and many many more. In addition to his mother, Mr. York was preceded in death two granddaughters, Hanna Lynn Noisey and Angel Rain Floyd; a sister, Gloria Jean York Howlett; the mother of his children, Susan Lynn Cramer; and a nephew, Michael York. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will accept friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the wonderful care given to Mr. York and the family during his illness.
