Mr. Joe Terry Francis

Mr. Joe Terry Francis, age 79, of Penhook, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on April 18, 1937 to the late Joseph Wheeler Francis and Pearl Martin Francis. Joe was a retired State Trooper with the Virginia State Police with over 33 ½ years of service. During his career he served in the Henry County, Chesapeake, and Suffolk areas. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University, an avid bass fisherman, New York Yankee baseball fan, and loved NASCAR.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Chuck Anderson of Chesapeake; a son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Sharon Francis of Chesapeake; and four grandchildren, Rachel Anderson, Emily Anderson, Brittney Francis, Wesley Francis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Tommy Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens.
