Mr. John Edward (JE) Cox

Mr. John Edward (JE) Cox, age 71 the husband of Shirley Bledsoe Cox died on Tuesday April 3, 2007 at his home. He was born in Surry County on November 30, 1935 to the late Ernest Cox and the late Lois Bryant Cox. He was a member of New Home Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and Elder for many years. He was retired from Hanes-Dye and Finishing Co. with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Surviving are his wife of 49 years Shirley Bledsoe Cox of the home; one daughter Melissa Cox of Summerville, SC; one son and daughter-in-law Edward and Donna Cox of Greensboro; two grandchildren Allie Cox and Marion Cox; two brothers and a sister-in-law Ernest Cox Jr. of High Point and Terry and Janie Cox of Archdale; one brother-in-law Willis Covington of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Lib Covington and Betty Goins. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday April 6, 2007 at New Home Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Brother Tim Smith will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 noon until time for the service at New Home Church of Christ. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial be made to the New Home Church of Christ building fund or to the cemetery fund, C/O James G Draughn 4064 Simpson Mill Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
