Mr. John Thomas "J.T." Hall

Mr. John Thomas “J.T.” Hall, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born In Carroll County, VA on May 31, 1938 to the late Elmer Garland and Emma Gracie Dowell Hall. Mr. Hall was retired from Pine State Knitwear after 35 years of service, and was a member of New Life Baptist Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Peggy Stone Hall of the home; two sons, Larry Hall, and Gary Hall both of Mt. Airy; a granddaughter, Taylor Hall of Dobson; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Williams; three brothers, E.C. Hall, Dewey Hall and Wayne Hall. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gray Kirkman officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline memory Gardens with full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Denise Laurienti, and Mike Cartledge, PA for the special care given to John.
