Mr. John David Mitchell, Jr

Mr. John David Mitchell, Jr., age 88 of Stuart passed away Tuesday at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in North Hampton Co., NC on April 7, 1925 to the late John David Mitchell Sr. and Claudine Temple Gillikin Mitchell. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Hunter and Ella McArthur; and one brother, Charles C. Mitchell. Mr. Mitchell served in the US Air Force during WWII; was a member of Critz Baptist Church; and had retired from United Elastic with over 50 years service.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Clara Doss Mitchell of Stuart; one nephew, John Hunter of Raleigh, NC; one niece, Judy Draper of Raleigh, NC; a special sister in law, Elaine Doss of Stuart; and a special niece, Joan Griffin of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Mark Hackler and Billy Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
