Mr. John Jackson Phillips

Mr. John Phillips, age 60, of Westfield, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Surry County on November 16, 1957 to the late Walter Jackson Phillips and Thelma Mae Tolbert Phillips. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Eden Phillips, and Jordan Phillips; two granddaughters, Adilynn Ann Phillips and Marlee Mae Phillips (on the way); sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and General King; a brother and a sister-in-law, Harry and Frances Phillips; significant other, Kay Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Lorraine Phillips and Ms. Patricia Phillips. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 1, 2018 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ted Crotts and Rev. Timmy Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 9:30am until time of the service.
