Mr. John William "Chappy" Rorrer

Mr. John William "Chappy" Rorrer, age 75 of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on August 2, 1931 to the late Freddie and Fannie Lawless Rorrer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rorrer was preceded in death by a brother, Maynard Rorrer and two infant brothers. He had worked for J.P. Stevens and had retired from Tri-Wood of Ridgeway.
Mr. Rorrer is survived by his wife, Allie Rogers Jefferson Rorrer of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and David Collins of Stuart; two step-sons, Bobby Jefferson of Stuart and Ronnie Jefferson and wife, Nancy of Herbert, North Carolina; two grandsons, Wayne Collins, and wife, Susie and Randall Collins, and wife, Michelle; one step-grandson, Danny Jefferson; two sisters, Hortense Crawford and Maureen Blankenship, both of Collinsville; and two brothers, Sam Rorrer and English Rorrer, both of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mr. Rorrer will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Jack Foley officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
