Mr. John Silva, Jr

Mr. John Silva, Jr., age 65 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 25, 1947 to the late John Silva, Sr. and Josie Robles Silva. In addition to his parents, Mr. Silva was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Silva. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, and had worked as a ward secretary at the Blue Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Martinsville.
Mr. Silva is survived by his wife, Margaret "Sharon" Justice Silva of the home; a daughter, Tiffany Ann Irvin of Port Orange, Florida; a son, Christopher John Silva of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren, Tyler Lee Irvin, Keilana Ann Irvin and Ryleigh Quinn Silva; four brothers, Arnold Silva of Florida and Frank, Sidney and Gerald Silva, all of Texas; one sister, Gloria Daniels of Texas; and his father-in-law, Luther Cecil Justice of Stuart.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Speakers Nellie Vernatter and Arnold Silva officiating. A flag presentation will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
