Mr. John Grover Stanley

Mr. John Grover Stanley, age 87, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away on Friday morning December 11, 2015 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Yadkin County on January 15, 1928 to the late Harrison and Magdalene Davis Stanley. He was retired from Wayne Farms in Dobson and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by nine brothers. Surviving is his wife Frances Hill Stanley of the home; one daughter Gaynell Stanley of Chapel Hill; four sons and daughter-in-law Verlin Stanley of Salisbury; J.G. Stanley Jr. of Mt. Airy; James M. Stanley of Mt. Airy; Tony and Diane Stanley of Mt. Airy; eleven grandchildren Jamie Eaton, Johnny Eaton, Karissa Stanley, Tim Stanley, Mikey Stanley, Cassie Stanley, Josh Stanley, Randy Wood, Ryan Stanley, Andrew Stanley, Matthew Brackins; three great grandchildren Griffin Stanley, Camryn Stanley, Blake Wood, and one great grandchild on the way Kayden Stanley. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday December 13, 2015 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, with burial to follow in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Phillips will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of his service at 3:00 PM.
