Mr. John Jackson "Jack" Staples

Mr. John Jackson "Jack" Staples, age 96 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at his home. He was born in West Virginia on July 12, 1910 to the late Henry Lee and Ollie Staples. In addition to his parents, Mr. Staples was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rucker Staples, and three sons, Otis Staples, James "J.J." Staples, and John Francis Staples. He was retired from Stuart Lumber Company and was a member of Mount Calvary Holiness Church. Mr. Staples loved the church.
Mr. Staples is survived by one son, Henry Lee Staples of Stuart; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ollie Mae Spencer of Martinsville, Lucy and Michael Moore of Stuart and Marjorie and Donald Nowlin of Patrick Springs; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Staples will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Golden J. Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Loggins Family Cemetery.
