Mr. John Vangol age 90 of Gammons Road in Stuart and formerly of Virginia Beach died Saturday March 22, 2008 at The Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born on March 27, 1917 in New York to the late Peter Vangol and the late Christina Stirtz Vangol, he was also preceded in death by his wife Thelma Hill Vangol and a sister Helen Willis. He was a great father, loving grandfather and a friend to all. He loved the mountains of Patrick County. He was an Army veteran of WWII, member of the CCC Camp, employed by the U S Navy as an airplane mechanic, for over forty years he owned his own charter bus company in Norfolk. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Steven Juzwak of Stuart. One step-son Calvin Rodgers of Chesapeake, Va. one step-daughter Shirley Cartwright of Virginia Beach, Va. one sister Hattie Vangol of New York, NY and one grandson J. C. Trimmer of Stuart, Va. A graveside service will be held Thursday March 27, 2008 11 am at Stateline Community Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 9:30 until 10:30 am at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart and other times at the home of the daughter 1198 Gammons Road Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donors choice.
