Mr. Johnnie Lynwood Goodson

Mr. Johnnie Lynwood Goodson, age 83, of Sparta, passed away Tuesday September 26, 2017 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. Mr. Goodson was born in Carroll County on February 18, 1934 to the late Tomas Bud Goodson and Elsie Smith Goodson. He is survived by his daughter, Debby Marie Goodson; two sisters, Patsy Barringer and Anna O’Neal Snow; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Hattie and Sherman Thompkins, James Galyean, Elwood and Nina Hawks, Harvey and Mazy Barker, Dean Hawks, and several others. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goodson was preceded in death by his wife, Lethy Goodson; a son, Dallas Lee Goodson; three sisters, Ola May Myers, Nora Marie Coe, and Trusty Poindexter; and two brothers, Alex Cosby Goodson and Maynard Eugene Goodson. There are no formal services planned for Mr. Goodson at this time. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Goodson family.
