Mr. Joseph Franklin David Shirley

Mr. Frank Shirley (Joseph Franklin David Shirley), age 59 of Meadows of Dan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017. He was born on September 11, 1957 in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Phyllis Jean Senter and Charles David Junior Shirley, and was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Susan Heaton and a sister, Christina Hurley. He loved fishing and hunting, as well as spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Shirley is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Amy Shirley of Gastonia, North Carolina, Robert and Veronica Shirley of Avondale, West Virginia, Mark Sorrell of Florida; a loving and caring stepson, Andrew Wilson and wife, Miranda, of Stuart; three stepsons, Michael Heaton, Daniel Julian and Jessie Jochims; a step-daughter, Jennifer Wilson of the home; a daughter, Carrie Ann Sorrell of Florida; seven grandchildren, Johnathan Shirley of Mount Airy, North Carolina, Hanna Wilson, McKayla Wilson, Summer Julian, Alexis Julian, Madison Gibson and Sierra Jochims; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lola Shirley of Enterprise, Alabama, Ann and Rudy Engram of Enterprise, Helen and L.C. Thomas of Enterprise, Rose Marie Maynor of Enterprise; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles E. Maynor of Black Eagle, West Virginia, David Lee and Krysti Maynor of Enterprise and Bernard DeWayne; twenty nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Daniel Wilson.
