Mr. Joseph Leon White

Mr. Joseph Leon White, age 83 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at Central Continuing Care. Mr. White was born in Shepherdsville, KY on August 2, 1928 to Hubert and Mamie White. He and his wife owned and operated a town and country store in their hometown of Kentucky for many years. Surviving are brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Billy and Donna Beasley of Galax, VA and Robert Beasley of Dobson; sister-in-law,; Helen Wood of Mt. Airy and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann McCreary White. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Chaplain Robbie Vance. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Moody Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice at 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
