Mr. Jottie J. "Mickey" Corns

Mr. Jottie J. “Mickey” Corns, age 90, of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was born in Patrick County on May 20, 1927 to the late Jottie Lee Corns and Lilla Martin Corns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wavie Bullins, Hazel Martin; and four brothers, Aubrey Corns, Raymond Corns, Glenn Corns, and Johnny Corns. Mickey served in the U.S. Army where he was a Private 1st class with the 5th Infantry. He had retired from Stanley W. Bowles in Martinsville as a carpenter and Brick Mason. He loved gardening and bee keeping.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Eva Doss Corns of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Lisa Corns of Stuart; his special family, Brandy, Noah, and Nella Bembry; and a special family friend, Beulah Hubbard of Stuart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Mike Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Delano Biggs, 8214 NC 89 Hwy.
