Mr. JW Edwards

Mr. J W Edwards, age 71, of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Surry County on January 12, 1942 to Will J. and Viola Mathis Edwards. He was a retired farmer, a loving father, grandfather, brother, a great uncle and a friend to everyone in the Flat Rock Community. Surviving are his wife, Betty Sue Bowman Edwards of Mt. Airy; daughters and a son-in-law, Dawn and Johnny Solomon of Mt. Airy, Shannon Edwards and special friend, Craig Kilvington of Australia and Sherry Draughn and special friend Jeremy Johnson of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Justin Dean Draughn and Jonathan Taylor Solomon; sisters and a brother-in-law, Ida McDonough and Mary Farmer both of Winston Salem; Faye and Charles Fleming of Mt. Airy; a brother, Roger Edwards and special friend Louise of Mt. Airy; a sister-in-law, Jewel Edwards of High Point; a special nephew, Lane Edwards and wife Tonya; a special great-niece Loren, a special great-nephew Dalton and several nieces and nephews; a special Aunt Betty Scott. In addition to his parents, Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Savanna Daie, a sister, Betty Cooke and brothers, Roscoe (Bud) Edwards and Henry Edwards. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Richard Loman. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
