Mr. Kenneth Wayne Slate

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Slate, 65, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 at his home. He was born in Surry County on May 14, 1951 to Lincoln and Mary Holt Slate. Mr. Slate was a retired logger. He is survived by grandchildren, Brian “Seth” McBride, Amber McBride, Rilee Slate, Curtis Slate, and Izaiah Slate; sisters, Betty Lovill, and Barbara Chandler; brothers, Donnie Slate, Johnny Slate, Jim Slate; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Slate was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Tate Slate; a daughter, Tammy Sue Slate; a son, Kenneth Lee Slate; a brother, Dale Slate.
