Mr. Kenneth "Wayne" Spangler age 46 of Stuart passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Martinsville, VA on June 3, 1963 to the late Joseph Daniel Spangler and Myrna Cox Spangler Austin. . In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a infant nephew, Justin Daniel Spangler. He was the director of the Rolling Thunder Raceway in Ararat, VA and was employed by Amos Paving
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Myrna and James Austin of Stuart; two daughters: Ashley Jane Spangler of Winston Salem, NC, and Chelsea Lynette Spangler of Stuart, a special friend, Cathy Knowles of Stuart; a granddaughter, Kayleigh Beth Spangler of Winston Salem, NC, a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Dale Curry of Stuart; a brother and sister-in-law, Joey and Lisa Spangler of Stuart; two step-brothers and sisters-in-law, James, Jr. and Trish Austin of Greensboro, NC and Michael and Melanie Austin of Kingsport, TN; two nephews, Jordan Spangler and Thad Curry, both of Stuart; a niece, Kirsten Spangler of Stuart; a maternal grandmother, Rosie Cox of Stuart and two special friends and caregivers; David and Brian Knowles of Stuart.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 11:00am at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Ed Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadows of Dan Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
