Mr. Kermit Ray Griffin

Mr. Kermit Ray Griffin, age 63 of Stuart, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on March 25, 1947 to the late Coy Simpson Griffin and Ellie Doss Griffin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by a brother, James "Lewis" Griffin. He had been an equipment operator for the Virginia Department of Transportation where he worked for 30 years, had worked at Stateline Speedway, and enjoyed fixing up old cars. He attended New Beginnings Baptist Church.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Diane Anderson Griffin of the home; two sons, Eric Griffin of the home and Scott Griffin of Stuart, and his fiancé, Kayla Collins; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Derek Young of Stuart; two grandchildren, Audrey and Jed Young; one brother and sister-in-law, Sammie and Joy Griffin of Stuart; and a sister-in-law, Joan Griffin.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Mark Wright and Pastor David Heath officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and at other times at the home. Burial will be private.
