Mr. Larry Roger Bowles

Mr. Larry Roger Bowles, age 62 of Bassett, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. He was born in Henry County on November 2, 1948, and was preceded in death by his father, E. Sell Bowles and sister, Margie B. Witt. Mr. Bowles was a brick mason, a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.
Mr. Bowles is survived by one son, Roger Brian Bowles of Marysville, Washington; granddaughters, Katherine and Trinity Bowles of Marysville, Washington; his mother, Nellie Turner Bowles of Bassett; two sisters, Mamie B. Stone of Bassett and Judy B. Thomas of Stuart; three brothers, Troy Bowles of Bassett, Roy Bowles of Patrick Springs, and Berkley Bowles of Bassett; seven nieces and five nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Bowles will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Rick Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowles Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
