Mr. Lawrence "Smiley" Smiley

Mr. Lawrence "Smiley" Smiley age 68 of Meadows of Dan, passed away September 14, 2009 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida November 22, 1940, to the late Herbert Smiley, Sr. and Marguerite Laney Smiley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Herbert Smiley, Jr. and a son-in-law, Bill Turner.
"Smiley" is survived by his wife, Helen Bash Smiley of the home, three daughters and sons-in-law; Carol & Rick Doney of New Boston, Michigan, Karen Smiley of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Kathy Smiley & Dwayne Strouse of Edwardsburg, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Joel Smiley, Travis Doney, Billy Turner, Brianna Turner, Zachary Smiley, Max Strouse and Becca Strouse; a sister, Betty Widgeon of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and a brother, Marvin Smiley of Florida.
A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with the Rev. Jim Churchwell officiating. A committal graveside service will be held on Friday at Old Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00pm until time of the service.
