Mr. L.C. Nunn

L. C. Nunn, 89, formerly of Ararat Va. and Mt. Airy, N.C, passed away in Atlanta, Georgia on February 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Jessup Nunn. He is survived by his son Donald R. Nunn, MD, DDS, and wife Laura Seidel, Esq. of Atlanta, Ga., and daughter Jewel Nunn Baldwin and husband Freddie Baldwin of Glen Allen, Va. Also surviving are his two grandchildren, Sydney B. Garber (Scott), Kierston B. Koplin (Mike), and two great grandchildren, Joshua and Emma Garber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Verlie Nunn, brother Troy and sisters Thelma Mitchell, Grady Jackson, Lona Wilson, Eva Turney and Beulah Gibbons, and great granddaughter, Eleni Moumouris. He was a veteran of WW II having served as an MP. He worked at Simmons Nissan for many years and enjoyed his hobby farm. There will be a visitation for friends and family from 10:00 until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel with the Rev. Buford E. Jessup and the Rev. Tim Burton officiating. Entombment will be in Skyline Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flippin Memorial Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, N.C. and Wieuca Baptist Church 3626 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta Ga.
