Mr. Lee Roy Thomas

Mr. Lee Roy Thomas, 76 of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was born in Stokes County on August 30, 1939 to the late William Carl and Ada McCraw Thomas. He retired from floor covering and was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church. Mr. Thomas was a hard worker and a man with a big heart, always ready to help anyone in need, especially the elderly. He was known to be a trader on most anything and he loved old cars. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hicks Thomas, a step son and daughter-in-law, Eddie L. and Norma Brim; sisters, Myrtle Sissy and J.W. Poindexter, JoAnn Sisk, Betty Wright, Mary and Burton Terry, Jeanette and Roger Montgomery; brothers and a sister-in-law, E.C. Thomas and Ray Thomas. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil Buster Thomas and Carl Junior Thomas and a sister-in-law, Hazel Thomas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Benfield and Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Westside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Moody Funeral in Mt. Airy. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Westside Baptist Church, 107 Spring Creek Trail, Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 922 Banner St., Mt.
