Mr. Leonard Marvin Hylton, age 84 of Woolwine, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the V. A. Medical Center in Salem. He was born in Patrick County on December 16, 1923 to the late James Emmett Hylton and Pearlie Mae Ingram Hylton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hylton was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Hylton; one daughter, Dora Lynn Hylton; and five brothers and sisters, Blanco Hylton, Eva Prillaman, James V. Hylton, Fannie Turner and Elsie Gravely. He had served in the United States Army during World War II, and was a retired farmer.
Mr. Hylton is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kregg Roberson of Stuart; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne L. Hylton of Collinsville and Timmie M. and Denise Hylton of Stuart; six grandchildren, Christopher Roberson, Sarah Roberson, Brandon Hylton, Joe Hylton, Amanda Hylton and Brittany Hylton; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Oscar and Evada Hylton of Bassett and Donald and Alice Hylton of Stuart.
Funeral services for Mr. Hylton will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Rick Randall and Jack White officiating. Burial will follow in the Hylton Family Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
