Mr. Leonard Cecil Spencer

Mr. Leonard Cecil Spencer, age 73, of Stuart went home with the Lord on Friday, January 26, 2007. He was born February 7, 1933 in Patrick County to the late Lemuel Wilbert Spencer and Ruth Tuggle Spencer. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict, he was retired from J. P. Stevens, a former deacon with First Southern Baptist Church and a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Mary Frances Tatum Spencer. His son and daughter-in-law, Mark Cecil and Tammy Spencer of Danville, VA. Three grandchildren; Mark "Trey" Cecil Spencer, Jr., Taylor Nicole Spencer and Michael Douglas Neal. Four brothers; Woodrow Spencer of Bassett, VA, Kenneth Spencer of Roanoke, VA, Lawrence Spencer of Patrick Springs, VA and Thedford Spencer of Bassett, VA. Two sisters; Edna Craig Jones of Patrick Springs, VA and Ilene Graham of Martinsville, VA.
Funeral services for Mr. Spencer will be held Monday at 2:00PM at Moody Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery, with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. Rev. Ed
Hartman and Rev.Bernard Handy will be officiating. The family will receive friends on
Sunday, January 28, 2007 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
