Mr. Lloyd Everette Dalton age 60 of Tobaccoville, and formerly of Stuart and Richmond, VA had been in declining health for a number of years and with a recent diagnosis of lung cancer passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Care, in Winston-Salem, NC surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family. He was born in Patrick County on April 15, 1950 to Herman Dalton and Daisy Plasters Dalton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Moir and Beatrice Plasters; Arthur and Annie Dalton, and a nephew, Landon Priddy. He graduated from Stuart High School in 1968. He was a truck driver for over 30 years before becoming disabled. He was a member of Wayside Community Baptist Church and had been a member of the Patrick County Jaycees. He loved hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and bluegrass music, collecting guitars, watches, guns and knives.
Mr. Dalton is survived by his Wife of 30 years, Carolyn Denny Dalton, of Tobaccoville, NC, three daughters and sons-in-law; Amy Elizabeth Hensley and husband, Don Hensley of King, NC, Katie Marie Dalton Finch and husband, Michael Finch, of Sumter, SC and Karyn Michelle Dalton Mickey and husband, Jeffrey Mickey, of King, NC, two grandchildren; Taylor Brooke Hensley and Spencer Gray Hensley of King, NC; his parents, Herman and Daisy Dalton of Stuart, VA; a brother; Roger Dalton and wife, Joann Dalton, of Woodlawn, VA, two sisters and brother-in-law; Ann Dalton Shumate, of Mt Airy, NC and Regina Dalton Rogers and husband, Jimmy Rogers, of Lawsonville, NC and a loving extended family; the Capehart families of Richmond, VA.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Wayside Church Cemetery with Rev. Bernard Handy and Rev. Garland Glascoe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday evening at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Lloyd Everette Dalton Burial Fund, c/o Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 307, Stuart, VA, 24171.
