Mr. Lonnie Lee Stowe

Mr. Lonnie Lee Stowe, age 62 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on May 10, 1950 to the late Enoch and Pauline Greenwood Stowe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stowe was preceded in death by two brothers, Carson and Melvin Stowe. He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Stowe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margie Smith Stowe of the home; four sisters, Marie Turner of Stuart, Betty Martin of Bassett, Allie Martin and husband, Hoyt of Patrick Springs; and Velma Martin and husband, June of Stuart; his mother-in-law, Louise Smith of Ararat; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Owens of Ararat and Carolyn Stowe of Stuart; a brother-in-law, Wade Smith of Mount Airy; four special friends, Bill Wyatt, Daniel Freid, James "Red" Haden and Bud Wells; several nieces and nephews; and loving companion, Snowball.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home.
