Mr. Malcolm "Mack" Harris

Mr. Malcolm Andrew "Mack" Harris, 72, went peacefully to be with his heavenly father on November 22, 2013 at his home. He was born in Eden, N.C. on May 31, 1941 to the late William Parson and Nora Belcher Harris. Other than his parents, a brother, Joe Harris, also preceded Mr. Harris in death.
He was retired from Dupont with thirty-two and a half years of service and had also worked for Nickelston Industries.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was a faithful member, worker and deacon of High Point Baptist Church. He was a lunch buddy at Patrick Springs Primary School for many years and also played Santa Clause at schools and other functions for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Margaret Harris of the home; a daughter, Sheree Nickelston and husband Tim of Lawsonville, N.C., three sons; David Harris of Stuart, Michael Harris and wife Dana of Critz and Jeffery Harris and wife Becky of Patrick Springs. Eight grandchildren; McCrae Nickelston and wife Dawn, Andy Nickelston and wife Jena, Cher Martin and husband Kent, Kristen Harris, Makayleigh Harris, Faith Roop, Brandi Nickelston and a special grandson, Nathaniel Harris. Eight great grandchildren; Bailey and Madison Martin, Maddi, Elizabeth, Isaiah, Emma, Eden and Adalyn Nickelston, a sister; Dixie Neighbors of Check, his mother-in-law; Edna Poff of Meadows of Dan, a special nephew; Dennis Whitlock and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Christine Tatum, his doctors, especially Dr. Paul Eason and nurse Cheryl Via for their loving care and all his friends that were so good to him.
Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Wayne Moore, Rev. Gary Combs and Pastor Shaun Draughn officiating. Burial will follow at Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Moody Funeral Home and other times at the home.
