Mr. Mark Anthony Styers

Mr. Mark Anthony Styers age 57, of Ardmore, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina on November 11, 1959 to Harold Walker Styers, Sr. and Mary Alice Frye Styers. Mark was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Rodney Styers; and a sister, Robin Styers. Mark enjoyed working with horses and owned horses his entire adult life. He was a loving and devoted father, beloved son, and dearly admired, brother, uncle, and friend.

Mr. Styers is survived by his daughter, Riley Mae Styers of Ardmore, OK; his mother, Mary Alice Frye Styers of Patrick Springs, VA; a brother, Harold Styers, Jr. and wife, L.J. of Patrick Springs, VA; a sister, Shirley Styers Phelps and husband, Billy of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces and nephew, Allison Phelps, Robin Phelps, Megan Styers, Jesse Styers and wife Stephanie; and a great nephew, Chase Styers.

Funeral services for Mr. Styers will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at Unity Missionary Baptist Church (located at 452 Nettle Ridge Loop, Stuart, VA) with Pastor Ed Hartman officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the church.
