Mr. Marvin Paul Cruise

Mr. Marvin Paul Cruise, age 101, of Mount Airy, peacefully joined his Lord on Monday, March 20, 2017. Mr. Cruise was born in Carroll County on April 19, 1915, to Wiley and Minnie Elizabeth Cruise. He was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church where he was faithful and devoted throughout his life. Mr. Cruise was well known to so many, not only because of his age, but because of his charm, his quick wit, his sweet personality, and his love for others. He touched so many with his kindness and will be dearly missed. Among those who will always cherish his memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dayle Paule; his grandsons, who he was always bragging about, Michael Paule and wife, Robin, Matthew Cruise and wife, Tara and Jonathan Cruise and wife, Alaina; a special daughter-in-law, Melinda Cruise Wall; his great grandchildren, Dillon, Ashley, Colby, Ian, Drake, Cameron, Caleb, Cashton, Cierra and Abby; a sister-in-law, Nancy Hayes and a very special sister-in-law, Mary Jo White, who loved and cared for him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cruise was preceded in death by his precious wife of sixty years, Lorena Jones Cruise; his dear son, Paul Allen Cruise; sisters, Marcella Jackson, Orpie Sumner, Novella Bullington, and Oleta Gates and brothers, Foy Cruise, Raymond Cruise, Howard Cruise, Lloyd Cruise, William Cruise and Calvin Cruise. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 27, 2017 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family would like to express their appreciation to his nephew, Fred Bullington for his attentive visits and travels with his uncle Paul.
