Mr. Marvin Kent Payne

Mr. Marvin Kent Payne, age 44 of Ararat, VA passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Payne was born on November 12, 1966 in Surry County to Alvin James and Ruth Frances Jessup Payne. In addition to his parents, Mr. Payne is survived by his daughter, Tracy Payne; the mother of his daughter, Teresa Payne, both of Laurel Fork, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Pam Payne of Cana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Ronnie Nester, Ann Faulkner all of Ararat and Rhonda and Willie Holt of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jessup, and a nephew, Leevi Barnard. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Payne Family Cemetery. Rev. Ricky Rogers will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Services, PO Box 1288, Mt.
