Mr. Maston Stuart Willis

Mr. Maston Stuart Willis, age 86, of Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Willis was born in Patrick County on October 21, 1931, to Claud Willis and Ella Gwyn Willis Marshall. He proudly served our county in the United States Army and was retired from Ballston Knitting Co as plant manager. Mr. Willis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed. Among the many who will always cherish his memory are his devoted wife of sixty years, Blanche Boyd Willis; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Tim Richards, and Debbie and Allan Spence; a granddaughter, Ashley Frith and husband Jacob Frith, III; a grandson, Colby Spence; great grandchildren, Grace Anderson, and William Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sadie and Reid Smith, Bessie Williams, and Ruby and Jack Edwards; a brother and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and JoAnn Marshall, Shirley Willis, and Gracie Kincaid, a special friend, Dillard Nester, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willis was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Hiatt; and brothers, Jess Willis, and Hubert Willis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Billy Stegall. Burial will follow in Willis Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Pilot Mtn Post 9436 & Mt. Airy Post 2019. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to caregivers, Teresa Stegall, Faye Fain, and the staff of the Woltz Hospice Home and Mountain Valley Hospice, for the wonderful care given to Mr. Willis.
