Mr. Melvin Lee Dodson

Mr. Melvin Lee Dodson, age 42 of Patrick Springs, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at Southeastern Medical Center in Emporia. He was born in Martinsville on August 17, 1968. Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Mabel Nowlin and George and Amanda Dodson. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and had worked for Bassett Walker.
Mr. Dodson is survived by his wife, Lisa Hylton Dodson of Stuart; a son, Brandon Dodson of Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Ashleigh Dodson of Stuart; his father, Melvin C. Dodson of Martinsville; his mother, Margaret Nowlin Dodson of Stuart; two brothers, Darrell Dodson and Kendall Dodson, both of Patrick Springs; two half-brothers, Kenny Ziglar and Demetrius Kent, both of Martinsville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Dodson will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Benny Redd and Rev. Willie Covington officiating.
