Mr. Melvin Leon Wagoner

Mr. Melvin Leon Wagoner, age 70, of Mt. Airy, NC passed away at his home on Wednesday October 15, 2014. He was born in Surry Co. on January 1, 1944 to the late Melvin Levi Wagoner and the late Vicie Alice Luffman Wagoner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his half brother Gene Luffman and four half sisters May Buchman, Janie Garris, Flossie Holloway, Doretha Newman. He was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Sara Lee. Surviving is his wife Mrs. Norma Rebecca Melton Wagoner of the home; one daughter Glenda Elaine Wagoner Blackburn of Pleasant Hill; one brother and sister-in-law Noah "Mack" and Brenda Wagoner Sr. of Mt. Airy; one half brother and sister-in-law Willie and Mona Luffman of Mt. Airy; several nieces, nephews; special Friends Clayton and Virginia Mounce. A graveside service will be held 3:45 PM in the Cemetery of Little Elkin Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Anderson conducting. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
