Mr. Melvin Leon White

Melvin L. White, loving husband, daddy, pa pa went home to be with Jesus his Savior on August 29, 2013. He was born August 20, 1942 to the late Leon and Lela Jones White of Surry County. Melvin was owner and operator of White Motor Co. for 35 years. He was a member of Anchored In Jesus Baptist Church. He loved his family, church family and many friends. His loving magnetic and cheerful personality will be missed. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jody White. Four sisters, Hazel Stanley, Imogene Wood, Nina Hardy, Nellie Stanley, and a special sister- in- law Betty Shaver. What a family reunion they are having. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Katie Norman White and daughter Missy and husband Randy Vestal and two grandsons Cody and Brysen that meant the world to him. Two sisters, Lois Jester and Nancy Morrison. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:30-4:00 pm at Anchored In Jesus Baptist Church. Services will follow at 4:00 with Pastor Larry Stone officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Anchored In Jesus Bldg Fund
