Mr. Merrill Knight Worth, age 86 of Mt. Airy, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Golden Living Center. Mr. Worth was born in Surry County on January 20, 1927 to Robert Claude and Alma Ingram Harris Worth. He was a retired painter and a member of Mt. Airy Friends Meeting where he served as an usher for many years. Surviving is a sister Ruth Briggs of Mt. Airy; a sister-in-law, Velna Worth of Mt. Airy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Worth was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lena Frances Reynolds Worth, a sister, Helen Blackmon and brothers, John L. Worth, George A. Worth and an infant brother. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Skyline Memory Gardens with Dr. Jon Cawley officiating. Mr. Worth will be available for viewing at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy until the time to leave for the service. Memorials may be made to Mt. Airy Friends Meetin, 109 W. Wilson St., Mt.
