Mr. Michael Franklin Simmons

Mr. Michael Franklin Simmons, 63, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on December 22, 1949 to Margaret Sumpter Simmons and the late Gideon Franklin Simmons. Mr. Simmons worked with Ryder Logistics. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church; a member of Copeland Masonic Lodge # 390 AF & AM and also a member of the Surry Shrine Club. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Jeannie Simmons of the home; a daughter, Brandy Leigh Simmons of Winston Salem; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lynn and Danny Sawyers of Mt. Airy and a brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Norma Simmons Mt. Airy. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Highland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Darrell Tate and Rev. Bill Cook officiating.
