Mr. Mitchell Thomas Holder

Mr. Mitchell Thomas Holder, 48 of Travelers Rest, SC formerly of Mt. Airy passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, October 18, 2013. He was born on September 20, 1965 to Carole Leftwich Holder and the late Paul Thomas Holder. He was an artist and a former brick mason. Mitchell and Kay attended New Spring Church. In addition to his mother, Mitchell is survived by his wife, Kay Hickey Holder; daughters, Carissa and Carrie Holder and their mother, Amy Holder; step daughter, Kayla Nguyen; step son, Chad Nguyen; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Terry Hawks; brother, Paul Trent Holder and friend, Debbie Angel; grandmother, Agnes L. Shelton; mother-in-law, Inez Hickey; brother-in-law, Scott Hickey and his wife, Kim; nieces and nephews, Emily Vaughn, Matthew Hawks, Caleb and Nathan Holder, and a special nephew, Dreyden Hickey; great nephews, Hunter Ward and Colton Vaughn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Shelton Church of the Brethren with Rev. Grover Holder, Rev. Ted Turner, and Rev. Marvin Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
