Mr. Namon "Willie" Williams, 88 of Mt. Airy passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Central Continuing Care in Mt. Airy. He was born in Heckleburg, Alabama on February, 28 1924 to the late Daniel and Ada Raburn Williams. Mr. Williams was owner and operator of South Main Texaco for over 30 years, and was a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. Namon was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved talking to people, working in his yard, listening to music and was especially fond of his dog Peaches. He is survived by his wife, Opal Williams of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Kaye Taylor and fiancé Deran Wyatt, Penny and Howie Young all of Mt. Airy; two sons and daughter-in-law, Ray Taylor, of Mt. Airy, Ronnie and Tammy Taylor of Denton; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Alma DuBose of Alabama. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Dawson Williams; a son Otis Wayne Taylor; brothers, Delmer, James, Gene Williams and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Hutson officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday Night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy and other times at his home at 308 Worth Street, Mt. Airy.
