Mr. Nathan Cory Atkins

Mr. Nathan Cory Atkins, 26, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017. Mr. Atkins was born August 31, 1990, in Surry County, the beloved son of Nathan Dale Atkins and Vickie Smith Harold. Nathan graduated from Mount Airy High School in 2009, and was the owner and operator of Atkins Landscaping. Surviving are a son, Hendrix Rise Atkins-Jones of Mount Airy; his parents, Vickie and Gary Harold and Dale and Tammy Atkins, all of Mount Airy; his siblings, Whitney Hunter and her husband, David, Alex Atkins, Baylee Atkins, Abigale Harold all of Mount Airy; and Tyler Harold and his wife, Amelia, of Fancy Gap; his grandparents, Clyde David and Norma Smith, Sylvia Harold, and Connie Wood, all of Mount Airy; a niece, Madeline Hunter of Mount Airy; and a nephew, Cayden Hudson of Mount Airy. Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nathan and Marie Atkins, Bobby Harold, and Edward Hooker. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Jon Cawley and Chaplain Robin Sides officiating. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Hendrix Rise Atkins-Jones Endowment Fund, c/o Surrey Bank and Trust, 145 North Renfro Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
