Mr. Noel Bernard Terry, Sr

Mr. Noel Bernard Terry, Sr., age 80 of Ridgeway, passed away Friday, September 27, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born in Floyd County on May 7, 1933 to the late Herbert O. and Oma Stanley Terry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Hughes Terry; one son, Herbert H. Terry; one brother, Clovis Terry; and one sister, Rosalie Conner. He was a member of Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield for many years and attended Community Primitive Baptist Church in Stuart. He was a general contractor for over 40 years in the Washington, DC area.

Mr. Terry is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and David Durant of Landenberg, Pennsylvania; one son, Noel B. Terry, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Carl Terry of Bassett and Grady Terry of Meadows of Dan; five sisters, Sybil Butler of Virginia Beach, Ruth Milam of Fort Worth, Texas, Mildred Koehler of Falls Church, Guelda Skaggs of Roanoke and Lorna Hurt of Moneta; sister-in-law, Ruth Simpkins Terry of Floyd; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Terry will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Lewis Vass and Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the New Dan River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
