Mr. Norman William Martindale

Mr. Norman William Martindale, age 66 of Mt. Airy, and formerly of Glens Fall, NY, left this world while riding his motorcycle with the love of his life on Thursday, October 6, 2016. Mr. Martindale was born in Glens Falls, NY on February 10, 1950 to Otis Douglas and Viola Reynolds Martindale. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. Norman was very active in the American Legion Post 123, where he volunteered and gave of his time freely. He had a great sense of humor and was so loving to all who knew him. Surviving is his loving wife of 37 years, Vikki Smith Martindale; his “queen daughter”, Tammy Washburn and husband Brett; his adored grandchildren, Michael Washburn and wife Rachel; Blake Martindale, and Trever Washburn; sisters, Beverly Whiting, Arlene Austin, Joyce Keays and husband David, Gwen Thomas and husband Wayne and Glenda Wadleigh (Gert) and husband, Alan; a brother, Bascom Elms; several nieces and nephews and his special dog, Jax. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 10, 2016 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
