Mr. Norman Gray Yarber

Mr. Norman Gray Yarber, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at his home. He was born on March 5, 1929 in High Point, North Carolina to the late Cameron Thorne Yarber and Ruby Johnson Yarber. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a graduate of North Carolina State University. After graduation, he worked for J.P. Stevens, Inc. until his retirement.

Mr. Yarber is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn S. Yarber of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Larry Crutsinger of Norfolk; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Yarber of Durham, North Carolina, Brian and Leigh Yarber of Wentworth, North Carolina; six grandchildren; Kimberly, Brent, Ashley, Grace, C.J. and Megan; and one brother and sister-in-law, Harold Dean and Helen Yarber of Teachey, North Carolina.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robert Belcher officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
