Mr. Norris Gray Jarrell, Jr., 69, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Jarrell was born in Surry County on December 6, 1947 to Norris Gray Jarrell, Sr. and the late Margaret Faye Davenport Jarrell. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the VietNam War. Mr. Jarrell worked in his family business, Jarrell’s Service Station, and retired from Pike Electric. He was an avid golfer and played many a game at White Pines Country Club, where he was a member. He also loved working in his yard. In addition to his father, surviving is his devoted wife of forty six years, Judy Berrier Jarrell; a daughter, Lori J. Thomas and fiancé Kirby Anthony; a son, Jody Jarrell; his precious granddaughters that he so dearly loved, Emmory Thomas and Anslee Thomas; a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Jimmy Rogers and a nephew, Brian Rogers. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Skyline Memory Gardens by Rev. Dwight Sechrist. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
