Mr. Owen Isaacs

Owen Isaacs, age 72 of Ararat, VA, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was born December 6, 1939 in Foxtown, KY, the son of Elijah and Dora Fox Isaacs. In 1977 he retired from the United States Army having served his country in Korea and Vietnam. Owen was among the first Sky Marshalls and flew for TWA to prevent air plane hijacking. After his retirement from the military service he became a deputy sheriff and a criminal investigator for both Patrick and Carroll Counties in Virginia. He was preceded in death by both his parents, two brothers, Orbin and Oren Isaacs, half brothers, Robert Isaacs, by two half sisters, Wanda Johnson and Emma Sue Lovings. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years, Wanda Clement Isaacs, one daughter and son-in-law, Amelia and David Rautio of Ararat, VA, three sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Deana Isaacs of Keokuk, IA, Lowell J. and Jewel Isaacs of McKee, KY and Cliff and Mandy Isaacs of Mt. Airy, NC. He is also survived by five half sisters, Vonda Russell, Nina Rogers and Ruby Griffin of Connersville, IN, Barbara Henderson of Rising Sun, IN and Malva Seibers of Hamilton, OH, four half brothers, Ray Johnson of Lexington, KY and Voyd, Wade and Oren D. Isaacs of Connersville, IN, a special cousin James Fox of Oliver Springs, TN. He had nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy. Rev. Barry Clement will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Clement Family Cemetery in Ararat, VA with military honors by Patrick County Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home or at other times at the home.
