Mr. Paul Wilbert Corns

Mr. Paul Wilbert Corns, age 82 of Stuart passed away Sunday evening at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 12, 1929 in Patrick County to the late Joe Henry Corns and Fannie Creasey Corns. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, James "Frankie" Corns; a step grandson, Tyler Keith Cassell; four sisters, Agnes Carter, Wavie Miller, Mervie Smith, Mildred Clark; and four brothers, Grover, Frank, Lummie, and Buster Corns. Mr. Corns served in the US Army during the Korean War; was retired from VDOT; and was a member of Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church where he really enjoyed going to church.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Ayers Bishop Corns of the home; a daughter and son in law, Kim and John Cassell of Martinsville; and two grandchildren, Ashton and Brock Cassell.
Funeral services will be held Wed., April 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Brian Custer officiating. Burial will follow in the Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery with flag presentation by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery Fund, 46 Minnie's Chapel Loop, Stuart, VA 24171.
