Mr. Paul Thomas "Tommy" Holder

Mr. Paul Thomas "Tommy" Holder, 73 of Mt. Airy passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He was born in Surry County, on May 4, 1940 to the late Ora Lee and Annie Maude Surratt Holder. He retired from Greenwood and Charles Masonry and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Holder is survived by his loving wife, Carole Leftwich Holder; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Hawks and husband, Terry; two sons, Mitchell Thomas Holder and wife, Kay and Paul Trent Holder and friend, Debbie Angel and two daughters-in-laws, Amy T. Holder and Amy E. Holder; grandchildren, Emily Hawks Vaughn and husband, Tyler, Carissa Holder, Matthew Hawks, Caleb Holder, Carrie Holder and Nathan Holder; a great grandson, Hunter Ward and a great grandson, Colton Vaughn due to arrive next month; three sisters, Shelby Anthony and husband, Tommy; Yvonne Nichols and husband, Hal, Jane Utt and husband, Mike; two brothers, Rev. Grover Holder and wife, Alberta and Denny Holder and wife, Candice; a sister-in-law, Polly Holder and his mother-in-law, Agnes L. Shelton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holder was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Holder and Mona Ann Lawson; and a brother, Marvin Holder. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Grover Holder, Dr. Darrell Tate and Rev. Ted Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
